| Overview of precipitation across Minnesota |
The Cook County Climatology Network is made up of 30 volunteer rain and snow monitors across the county. The precipitation data that they collect is forwarded on to the State Climatology Office at the University of Minnesota where it is used for many reasons such as predictions, trends, and historical data. The article that follows is an overview of the precipitation data collected statewide by volunteer networks, including our network. It only takes a minute each day to gather precipitation data that is instrumental in helping us understand our weather and climate. If you have any interest in a volunteer opportunity such as this, please feel free to contact the Soil & Water office. An overview of Precipitation across Minnesota |
