Cook SWCD was pleased to work with two Incredible Exchange students, Ezra Lundy and Finn Gary this summer to monitor 11 Cook County beacheson Lake Superior for E. coli. The Incredible Exchange is designed for youth ages 11-15 to volunteer in the community in exchange for an activity of their choice.




Every Monday in June, July and August the students and one Cook SWCD staff put on the hip waiters and collected water samples starting at the beach in Hovland and finishing up Schroeder. In addition to beach monitoring, the students also had the opportunity to help out with rain garden work and Lake Monitoring at some of Cook County's inland lakes. Thanks Ezra and Finn for all their excellent work this summer!
