The Cook County Climatology Network is made up of 30 volunteer rain and snow monitors across the county. The precipitation data that they collect is forwarded on to the State Climatology Office at the University of Minnesota where it is used for many reasons such as predictions, trends, and historical data. 
The soil survey of Cook County, Minnesota began in the spring of 2010 although some preliminary investigations began much earlier. 
Cook SWCD was awarded a Great Lakes Commission grant in 2010 to complete various projects on Caspers Hill Road to reduce erosion impacting the Little Brule River and Gauthier Creek, both designated trout streams.Soil and Water - Upcoming Events
