Temporary Passport Office Change

As of Monday, May 2, 2011 the Cook County Recorder's Office is no longer able to accept passport applications. This change is due to new rules from the Department of Homeland Security.

The County Auditor's office has applied to become a designated passport agent. It is anticipated they will be able to start taking passport applications by the 1st week in June.

During the interim period, individuals in Cook County seeking new passports or renewals can go to the US Post Office in Grand Marais. Information on the hours of availability of this service can be found at http://Travel.State.Gov
