Highway Maintenance


Highway Maintenance provides summer and winter maintenance for the county highway system. This work not only maintains the integrity of county roadways, but it also ensures the safety of the traveling public.

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Graveling and grading unpaved county roads 
  • Doing minor surface repairs on paved county roads 
  • Ditching and drainage repairs on all county roads 
  • Overseeing annual dust control program 
  • Managing striping and crack sealing programs
  • Managing county roadway sign program to ensure compliance with Federal mandates 
  • Maintaining county roadway right-of-way through mowing and vegetative management/erosion control 
  • Providing snow removal and ice control services for all county roadways 
  • Scheduling and implementing minor road improvements
