Environmental Health

Our Mission:

The Environmental Health Division provides services to protect, promote, and improve the environment in Cook County. The goal of these services is to prevent the public’s exposure to environmental hazards or mitigate the impact of an incident.

We add value by:
* Managing septic compliance and new system installations to protect public health and the environment
* Well water testing for bacteria, nitrates, and flouride
* Responding to questions and acting as an information resource
* Assisting in reporting of environmental health incidents such as animal bites and pest infestations
