Family and Children Services

Services for Families and Children

Cook County Human Services has a positive impact on Cook County children and families’ lives every day by assessing safety, providing intervention and securing stability. We are dedicated to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our community.

We work with our Federal and State partners implementing their initiatives to provide stability for children. This means providing services which will strengthen and assist families in solving their problems with the least restrictive environment possible, preferably within their own home and community.

Social workers assist families in identifying their problems and then locating resources as close to home as possible.

Our Public Health nurses are a key resource through education and prevention services, and through programs like Home Visits for pregnant and post partum mothers.
