The County Board
The Cook County Board of Commissioners is the governing body for the county. The five members of the board are elected to staggered four-year terms. Each member represents a specific geographic district.
District 1 – Vacant
District 2 – Commissioner Myron Bursheim
District 3 – Commissioner Jan Sivertson
District 4 – Commissioner Heidi Doo-Kirk
District 5 – Commissioner Ginny Storlie

County board meetings are held the second, third, and fourth Tuesday of each month. The second and fourth Tuesday meetings begin at 8:30 a.m. The third Tuesday the County Board Meeting begins at 10:45am, following the Human Services Board meeting which begins at 8:30 a.m. All County Board meetings are held in the Commissioner’s Room on the first floor of the Cook County Courthouse, located at 411 W. 2nd Street, Grand Marais.
